No Gripes...lets talk about good things I ADDED SOMETHING I HAD TO GET OFF MY CHEST

Hi Mary,

I posted on the gripes board yesterday and through the day it bothered me, because even though I was frustrated with my daughter and doing so much cleaning up and laundry at her home,  I am so very proud of her too.

She took a bad situation in her life... her marriage ...and decided to make changes for a better life for her and her girls.  Even though there are alot of stresses involving that decision she is so much happier.  My granddaughters are happy & healthy.  They seem to have a better relationship with their dad since he moved out.  Now he actually does things with them instead of just yelling at them to be quiet so he can watch tv or play games on the computer.  My daughter just was offered a permanent job yesterday, where she is temping, at a great salary and the opportunity to work from home two days per week.  That should make it easier for her to keep up on her laundry etc too.

Even though it is not New Years yet and when we typically make resolutions, I am going to try to focus on the positive things in my life and not let the negative things get me down.

Thank you for helping to put things in perspective!

I have two of the most wonderful daughters in the world!!

They have blessed me with 5 terrific grandchildren!

I have a wonderful new boyfriend (whom I have known for about 10 years).

I feel healthier and have more energy then I could ever imagined ......life is good!

I have the most wonderful friends ....especially those here on OFF!!!!!

Thankyou so much for starting this thread. You are one great person,
If I want Rants Ill go to the Rant and Rave board.
I am so greatful for my PCP finding the nodule on my thyroid. I know in the back of my mind that it may be cancer. I am having a positive outlook and thinking it isnt.
I wont know till ater the surgery.
I am greatful for my weight loss. It has given me a whol new look on life.
I am so greatful that I moved down to Florida. I have always wanted to live where the warmth and sun meet everyday.
Even though I dont have to many friends down here, I have my off sisters to talk to everyday and you are even closer on the phone.

Thinking positive about your upcoming surgery is a great. I will be thinking of you on the 23rd.
And you're right about the Rants and Raves, there is a board devoted to that. We don't need any cattyness, everyone here is nice and most wouldn't want to start anything.

Well, I didnt post on the gripes post, mainly because I didn't have time, but I think we all need to realize that this board is for everyone and if you don't like the post, don't post.  There is no reason to flame the people who either post what you don't like, or post what steps on your toes.  I have seen a lot of old timers, I don't mean age wise, leave because of racism, flaming, misogynistic jokes, or even religion being shoved to their throats by all of these prayer posts.  I, like many of them, don't post when these things irritate me, but, like them, just stopped posting.  I might be the odd lady out, but I think some of you owe Darlene an apology.  If what I say bothers you, I'm sorry.

I just read Darlene's post.  I'm sorry that she's been emailed and flamed. 

Like you, I just back off from the controversy.  As I said, everyone has a place and Darlene certainly does.  She is probably one of the most knowledgeable people we have on this board.
